My favorite pattern for a baby jacket is extremely easy, just have to sew a few pieces together. To do this, you need to measure across the shoulders and from the shoulder down to the waist. Write down these numbers. For the back, make a square with these dimensions in garter stitch. For the front, divide the shoulder to shoulder measurement in half and knit that width and, again, down to the waist. Do this twice. Now, divide the shoulder to shoulder measurement by 3. For the sleeves, knit in garter stitch this width & the same length as before.

Lay down the back piece on a table. Take the front pieces and set them on the table, lengthwise, in front of the back. Take the sleeves and lay them perpendicular to the fronts and back, centering the width where the front & back meet.
Sew the sleeves to the sides of the front & back. Sew half way in from each side joining the shoulders. Fold the front over the back at the shoulders. Sew the bottom of the sleeves together and the rest of the sides to the bottom of the jacket.

You can add buttons & I-cord closures if you with.

I have been using and selling items made from this pattern for 3 years now. Any questions, just email me.
