I realized while watching that using fabric as a buffer would be harder than using something solid, like cardboard or a piece of plastic. And, either of those should be pretty simple to weave in. Hope this helps some fellow DIYers! <3

This is a great tutorial. Weaving on a board isn’t a technique I’ve seen before. I have noticed that working with a solid surface on hand-made looms you tend to bruise your knuckles up a bit, tho. You might try creating a frame that is open under your warp strings. I don’t make long scarves, but when doing small tapestries I use old wooden picture frames with the screws in both ends. That open space helps a lot.

I love this! I usually hate looming because it takes forever, but it goes so fast with fabric strips! Now my loom won’t gather dust in the corner, and I can keep warm!

Yesterday I got my board, a 2 x 6″ six foot long. Today I figured out I could put 9 screws across each end 3/4″ apart. Tomorrow I’ll put primer on it, then a coat of gray paint. The neutral background comes in handy when choosing color schemes. I don’t have any silk, I’ll have to use other fabrics or yarn.
