If you are a knitter, you should read Annie’s books! My favorite is “Confessions of a Knitting Heretic”!
Note: I don’t know why I keep calling the yarn “thread” throughout the video! I guess it’s from years and years of counted cross stich and crocheting with fine thread. Please forgive the blunder! There is only so much editing you can do! LOL
It is my wish and hope that by making knitting videos someone will see them and it will help them pick up needles and try to knit. Find a local yarn shop and take a class or search online for instruction and teach yourself. You’re never too old or too young to try! You can always email me for help and if I don’t know the answer I’ll help you find out.
This world should be all about “giving back”. If someone taught you something, teach someone else and the gift goes on and on.

Thank you for this wonderful video!!! I’ve been knitting for years and have never been able to learn how to cable. People have tried to explain it to me, they just umed I’d be able to figure it out without a demonstration. Thanks again!

Which socks? The …
Which socks? The ones I showed in my latest video are from the pattern Spring Forward. I’ve knit that pattern on two different socks. One for me & one for my daughter. The ones in my “knitting frustrations” video were from the pattern Froot Loops (sic), which I want to try again sometime soon.

Oh, I’m sorry I …
Oh, I’m sorry I took the ‘mystery’ out, Judy, now you are just “glo”! LOL I’m so bad at finishing sweaters, but I’m determined to finish this one! I’ve now made it past the first armhole and I’m in the back, I’ll show a brief update this weekend. The glasses are my magnifying “cheaters” but I love the colors too! This yarn didn’t show the color well in this vid, it is really a deep burgandy. When Eva saw it in person she said it was a lot prettier in person. She got to feel it too!

Ok, I watched how …
Ok, I watched how you do it and see what you mean. I knit the same way on some ysrns that are tightly woven. This particular yarn I’m using has serveral strands and if I don’t ‘help it along’ I end up splitting it. So that’s why the extra istance from my finger. The pattern on your socks is familiar, I think I have that one around here… somewhere! LOL

yes i love the colour of your yarn, so pretty but what i love most is that you are keeping knitting alive by showing people how you do it and inspiring them to take it up again ( like me ) or to give it a try for the first time, well done Debbie

Well you know how …
Well you know how when you go through the stitch and go up to grab the yarn, you take hold of the yarn with your finger and the needle and bring it down and pull it through the stitch. Well, I just pick up the yarn with the needle. I think you can kinda see what I mean in that “knitting frustrations” video back when I was first learning to knit socks.

Wow, I loved this …
Wow, I loved this video and learning how to do a cable. you took all the mystery out of it for me. I have only done a couple of knitted things. I mostly crochet but would love to learn to knit better. I have a sweater that is only partly done-then put it away and never finished. I should get it out. I just finished crocheting a baby blanket for my niece. Makes me want to do more.. Thanks for this.. your glasses (multi color) match your needles! LOL Love the color of the yarn!!

I’m not sure I’m …
Thanks, Sue!
I’m not sure I’m following what you mean about, “I don’t grab the yarn and pull it through the way you do. I just grab it with the needle.” I would love to see how you do it. I ended filming the 2nd half of my vid with my camera on a small tripod in between my arms while I knit. I liked how the 2nd part looked better than the part in the car. Make a vid and show me! I’ll watch it, and your other when I get back from visiting Jill and Eva.

Both, of course!
It’s 1pm and the car is packed, we are moving to the door… well, I’m ready, someone else is still watching videos, see my problem here?
Oh, check out my horoscope for today:
“You need to hold on to what you’ve got today, even if it feels like the height of selfishness. You don’t have to do everything for others and they don’t get to complain when you take care of yourself.”
Good thing we aren’t going to the casino today! I’d have to “hold on to what I’ve got” LOL
