    I have a hair dryer and a set of curling tongs that I’d like to swap for an electronic calculator and a purse with a clip fastening.

    found an easier way …
    found an easier way to do this, well counting-wise. after you do 2sc in every fourth stitch in the beginning, then do 2sc in every stitch so you have 40 stitches. then do 2sc in every 4th. then the next go around 2sc in every 5th. then every 6th and so on and so on. then its in incriments of 10 instead of incriments of 8. hope that makes sense

    When crocheting in rounds, safety pins REALLY help. I put them on the last stich of evey row so i can keep track of were i start and how many sitches I’ve done. It helps a bunch trust me!

    Yeah, I’d like to know the answer to that question too. I’m making my 2nd hat, (much better than the last one, got a bigger hook!) but I can’t tell how big it should be!

    I used a size 10 …
    I used a size 10 hook i think. Before this hat I was making a blanket (single crochet) for about a year so I’m just freakish fast at that stitch. 🙂 Get a bigger hook and everything will be a lot easier.

    Well I just …
    Well I just finished mine and it looks like one of those flat-topped russian winter hats. Hmm. I guess its because I used way too small of a needle, I used a 5.5 because thats the biggest i had. I still wear it around just because its the first thing I ever made haha. I’m going to try again with a bigger needle and softer yarn, wish me luck!

    Im confused about the second round. Are we doing ONE single crochet in each or TWO single crochet in each stitch? ( What you mention at 2:02)

    @gwyn2themax
    An hour and a half!?!? Man, I’ve been working on mine for about a week and it is taking me SO long. This is my first non-hot pad project so I expected it to take me a long time but I’m very impressed with your time! What size hook did you use?

    I hope I am being …
    I hope I am being clear in my question. After single crochet around at the end, approximately how much in diameter should the hat be (when laid straight out) before continuing the closing stitches. Mine is 13″ and I don’t know if that is enough. I put it on my head, but don’t know if this is enough after closing stitches. I know it depends on how big you want it or your head diameter, but I just need an approximate diameter. Thank you
