HOW DO YOU CAST ON STITCHES IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR KNITTING?

January 22nd, 2010 · 1 Comment · Knitting How To Cast On

I got this answer : You knit to where you want to cast on the stitches. Insert your right hand needle into the stitch on the needle and pull in a loop. Place that loop back on the needle. Keep doing that until you have the amount of extra stitches you need. Then knit the rest of the stitches on the row. On the next row just knit as usual.

But i don’t get how to make a loop? Plz help!

Having bound off some stitches on the previous round, I’m now looking at a needle with stitches at either end, but a gap in the middle (Fig. 1). The plan is to cast on stitches to bridge that gap as I work across the needle on this round.
